CAPSULE REVIEWS Marvel Week 29 2008

Spidey sings the DD theme song, Ghost Rider takes to the Good Book, Archangel is feeling blue, MODOK makes a splash, Longshot gets lucky, Hercules as well, Sue with Namor even more so, Captain America becomes a Queen… and the Avengers challenge Galactus to a Texas Hold’Em tournament!

CAPSULE REVIEWS Marvel Week 28 2008

Captain Britain returns, Starhawk joins the guardians of the Galaxy reunion, Cyclops is revealed for the hack he is, Captain America reveals his origin (twice in the same week), Kraven gets a boob (and bleach) -job, Claremont hits tilt, Stark goes Skrully — and yet it all pales before the awesomeness of… MARVEL MUMMIES!!

Ultimate Marvel Handbook # 237

Hello all and welcome to another edition of the Handbook. I‘m Jim Trabold. We have one large email to cover this week. We call it Cory mail.

I’m Just Sayin’…#16

“And pray for a resurrection.” I just like that. In 2008, you’d just have to say something like that at a spandex funeral, you know? At the same time, that leads me to wonder…why’s ANYbody crying? SUCK IT UP, Vixen. Unless she’s thinking about HER odds of a resurrection, in which case…erm, uh…yeah.

CAPSULE REVIEWS Marvel Week 23 2008

It’s a week of odd pairings! Spider-Woman hits on Iron-Man (though one or both might be Skrulls- hmm), Bruce Banner hits on Marvel Girl, Rockslide hits on his teacher, the Enchantress seduces teen Spider-Man, She-Hulk picks on Red Hulk, Red Hulk picks on some deer, the Thing picks his nose and just what does G stand for in the new MODOG?

I’m Just Sayin’…#12

Wow…am I the only feeling really disoriented this week? Having Monday off seems to have thrown me off a bit. I’m trying to get this column going, and the only thing going through my head right now is how little I care for the term “morbidly obese.” I mean, if you’ve got a weight problem, that’s bad enough - do you really need to know that even your doctor thinks you’re gross?

CAPSULE REVIEWS: Marvel Week 19 2008

Whoa. You turn your head around for a second and suddenly the world is upside down. So, Spidey is quippy and carefree, Bendis’ Avengers don’t suck no more, Secret Invasion is entertaining, and Iron-Man is not a prick? Ah, but cruel vengeful Karma, look what’s happened to the darling X-books in retaliation… BOO! Plus: Zombie Wolvie and Spidey vs H.E.R.B.I.E.(s)!

CAPSULE REVIEWS: Marvel Week 17 2008

Starting a petition demanding those damn dirty Skrulls stop sleeping with our men and women! TARTS!!

Also: X-Hippies, the X-humed, Monica-gate, bestiality on a grande scale, Doop vs Galactus, a ninja dojo diner food fight, Stinky Farty Sailor-Moon, and Orrgo judging a Beauty Pageant with his Amazing Mental Powers!

I’m Just Sayin’…#6

I’m still trying to give Mark Millar and Bryan Hitch the benefit of the doubt over on FANTASTIC FOUR - I’d been talking to one of my writing buddies about the plot, and got into a whole debate over where NuEarth fits into the scheme of all the many planet Earths currently available in the [...]
