Hey guys... I love the column and read it every time there's a new one posted.

My question however, is actually Image related.. and I didn't know where to ask. There was a character named KORE in Image Comics.. and I thought I'd see if you had any information about him?

Also, what's up with Blackest Night? I'll admit I'm not much of a DC fan other than the Bat and Vertigo Comics. I have no earthly idea what's going on with Blackest Night.

Finally, do you have a list of "recommended" comics for me? I really need something to read at work.

I'm actually ambivalent, leaning towards irritated about Blackest Night. It's like someone took a cheesy album cover from some lame death metal band and made a comics event around it. Honestly, it's not fun for me to see characters I like turned into the living dead, and I doubt it's going to have anything insightful to say about life and death, or will be genuinely gut-churning like the best E.C. Comics were. So it's just another snuff fetish superhero crossover to me.

Did not know about Nekron, though - I haven't really delved into the Lantern mythos to quite that extent. Seems like a logical candidate, though I'm hoping it'll end up being someone completely nonsensical. Come on, Red Bee!

I guessed Nekron when this was all announced way back when.

To answer your question., "with the Blackest Night upon us, are you excited about or ambivalent?"

I am very excited. The build up has been great. And if the prologue is any indication I think the Blackest Night event will be amazing in every way. I am talking about the main books, not the anxcillary stuff.

And I think coming out of Blackest Night we have a very different Corps.

I am very confident in Johns vision and the talent involved.

[...] Who’s dead at DC?: So, Blackest Night — the limited series by writer Geoff Johns that promises to raise a ton of characters from the dead — is about to take over the DC Universe. But before you read that, check out this list of deceased heroes you may or may not be seeing once the comic hits. Bookmark It Hide Sites [...]

I guess I should say that you don't really need to explain who they are, but I just thought you'd want to see it if you haven't checked out the issue.

What an excellent issue. I hope you've read the issue by now.

Anyways, that wasn't the only big splash page with dead heroes, here's the other.
