[...] Normally, I hate scenes like this in my comic books. And it’s because usually, there are two things missing - context and restraint. There’s no mistaking that the requisite homework has been done in portraying the Asgardian Gods as beings who do literally everything with gusto, so a scene like this is expected. Context. And then to balance it out, we get a modest use of shadow and well-chosen language that lays just enough out there for you to get the point, and stay in the story. Restraint. I hope people are taking notes - Judd, I’m looking in your direction… [...]

Manolis - I can't help it, bro. I'm not trying to step on your enjoyment of THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN* and believe me, I envy your ability to look past ONE MORE DAY, but as a fan I feel insulted by the disingenuous reasoning behind the move. Moreover, what I've read of BRAND NEW DAY, for all of the very interesting storylines that have come, has yet to show me just why Peter Parker needed to be single.

As for sacrificing the wedding for Spider-Man to be fun again...let me put it to you this way: let's say you're 9 years old, and you've been promised a bowl of chocolate pudding. But then you're handed a bowl of cat crap instead. And then you're told that the pudding is just beyond that cat crap, about three inches into the bowl.

At least for me, it goes like this: I'd have been down for that pudding if you hadn't tried to make me swallow cat crap first.

Pardon the metaphor. I have three cats. :-)

arg, stop it with all the spider-man hate!

Am i the only reviewer/blogger around who really digs Brand New Day?

if we really really had to sacrifice a wedding for spidey to get this good again, then so be it! :)

i also totally get their young Parker remarks, with the 'huh' exception that peter hasn't really been de-aged with BND. he's still a college graduate, and if he has all his memories minus the ring, then he;'s really the same age, just single.
