Here is today’s entries in the A-Z of Awesomeness, a month-long project / challenge / bizarre act of artistic self-flagellation in which I draw a picture each day, for every letter of the alphabet, based on suggestions from You, The Internet.
Some more quickie reviews from this weeks batch of comic book goodies. Including Chew #1, Wonder Woman, FF, Cap: Reborn. War of Kings, Batman and Robin, GLC and Secret Six!
When I read about this, all I could think of was “awwwww crap. I don’t want to see Iron Fist in THUNDERBOLTS – I wanna see him in HIS OWN BOOK!” And I’ll tell ya, I’d like to think I wasn’t the only one who had that reaction. Marvel had something truly special with THE IMMORTAL IRON FIST, and as much as I realize that newer monthlies have a much shorter shelf life these days, it doesn’t seem worth it to me that, from the looks of things, Marvel seems willing to let this one go on the gamble that at least SOME readers will follow Danny Rand over to a comic that has, by and large, been rendered redundant by DARK AVENGERS. Sigh, and sigh AGAIN.

Some time ago during those heady days of Final Crisis, I wrote that Rogues’ Revenge (still Geoff Johns’ best work by my reckoning) was the first part of an emergency plan to rescue the Flash franchise from several years of mismanagement, with Barry Allen being a [...]

A quick exercise; let’s do a rundown of the number of teams carrying the Avengers name right now: the Mighty Avengers, New Avengers, Dark Avengers, and Young Avengers (ignoring the Avengers Initiative and Ultimate Avengers).
Now Paul Cornell is throwing, technically, a team of New Dark Young Avengers into the mix. The cover to issue one proudly announces: “They’re Exactly What You Think!” which is an odd promise, and one that I think is unfair to the comics.
Cully Hamner is currently working on The Question which will will appear monthly as a co-feature in Detective Comics beginning with issue #854 from DC. Recently he finished up Black Lightning: Year One and a run on Blue Beetle and is also known for his creator owned project RED. He is one of my favorite artists ever, and really thankful he took the time to answer some questions.
